San Buenaventura | 15 Mb Built in the late fifteenth century, this Portuguese ship is at the transition between the traditional medieval carrack, and the more recent caravel. Similar in shape and size to Magellan's Victoria, the first ship to circumnavigate the globe, and to Cabral's Anunciacao, the first ship to reach Brazil, the San Buenaventura was mainly used as a cargo ship for trade along the coasts of Africa and Madagascar.
