The Norris Class Destroyer is a stand alone product. No other purchase is required. Compatible with Poser 5, 6, 7 and 8 ONLY.
When the Norris Class Destroyer was put into production the need for close direct fire support from a capital ship had not been realized. The theory at the time of the Battle of the Two Suns was for a ship of this class to stand off and provide covering fire for other ships in the fleet or provide diversionary engagements. These strategies proved fatal for the Norris Class Destroyers during the opening hours of the first all out major engagement with the bugs.
The Norris Class Destroyers were also equipped with the new side shielding, energy systems. This break through in energy shield technologies provided the ship with four power generators that would provide enough energy, in theory, to deflect most anti-ship missile systems in use at the time.
The four Norris Class Destroyers that arrived in system just hours after the battle started, were then rallied and used to provide covering fire for a squadron of Predator Class Battleships that had recently arrived. The mission objective was to rescue the stranded Flagship Martin that had the misfortune of bearing the full brunt of what later was to be determined as an Bug Assault!
